La mémoire de cendres (fka as L’imposteur) is a 15-minute experimental film blending live-action footage with AI-generated sequences. The protagonist, a man in his late twenties, reflects on his past—his friendships, faded artistic ambitions, and current isolation. The narrative moves between two timelines: his earlier, hopeful days in a sunny, green landscape with his friends, and his present emotional numbness, set in a cold, abandoned environment. Through its narrative and set design, La mémoire de cendres explores themes of memory, regret, loneliness, and modern masculinity.
The film is currently in post-production and is supported by the Canada Council and PRIM.
