In this ongoing series, I am examining AI technology as a conceptual tool, which rendered traditional requirements of art supplies and a physical studio unnecessary, shifting focus toward the essence of ideas. The artwork becomes immaterial. The importance of the visual image emerges, contingent upon the quality of our imaginative capacities. The last few months, I have been generating thousands of images, akin to a photographer without a camera, a painter without a canvas, and a writer without a paper. However, despite my enthusiasm for these innovative tools, it's evident that the technology is not perfect, often yielding subpar results.

One notable concern I have with AI image generators lies in their inherent censorship mechanisms, designed to prevent the creation of potentially offensive content. Paradoxically, this censorship tends to sanitize the generated content, resulting in a polished yet soulless output lacking in emotional depth or narrative resonance. Hence, I started this project aimed at subverting these limitations, “tricking” AI to explore themes of human suffering. It's notable that many mainstream platforms and AI technologies tend to gloss over the darker aspects of human experience, prioritizing positivity at the expense of authenticity.

Drawing inspiration from passages in novels, stills from cinema, and references from art history, I've employed Midjourney as a tool to depict the anguish inherent in the human condition. This exploration of existential pain has increasingly become a central focus of my artistic practice, illuminating the shadowy recesses of existence. In an age of growing disillusionment, the prevailing narrative in both cultural institutions and online spaces tends towards optimism, potentially obscuring the complexity of human emotions in the digital landscape.
